Jada Pinkett Smith Opens Up About Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slap

Jada Pinkett Smith took to her Instagram handle to share a teaser of Red Table Talk’s forthcoming installment. The clip was accompanied by a long written caption.

In the post, Pinkett Smith mentioned, ‘There is so much more that lies beneath us all, that our assumptions about one another and perceptions cannot meet.’

The 50-year-old star was talking about her interview with April Simpkins, the mother of the late Miss USA Cheslie Kryst. The episode is slated to drop on Facebook Watch this Wednesday.

Regardless, her words can be a subtle message to the audience amid speculations about her relationship with her spouse following Will’s meltdown at the Oscars.

Pinkett Smith has been active more on Instagram than any social media platform in the wake of Will’s storming of the ceremony last month. The Men In Black actor spectacularly slapped comedian Chris Rock after he passed a comment at Pinkett Smith’s bald head.

In another teaser for the new episode of Red Table Talk, Pinkett Smith was joined by her 68 years old mother, Adrienne Banfield Norris, and 21 years old daughter, Willow Smith. The trio together interviewed a bereaved April Simpkins.

Simpkins’ 30 years old beauty queen daughter, Kryst, passed away in January after she jumped off her Manhattan apartment building. Kryst was suffering from severe depression.

Kryst was one of the contributors to the television program Extra. Her unexpected demise prompted grief from several celebrities including Billy Bush and Gayle King.

Willow Smith asked Simpkins whether she saw any preliminary signs. The distraught mother responded that she did but was unaware of the severity of it.

Simpkins revealed that Kryst had previously made attempts to take her own life. She started seeing a counselor and appeared to be getting better before her unfortunate demise.

Pinkett Smith on the other hand has not directly talked about Will’s infamous Oscars slap.

Meanwhile, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum was last captured in Mumbai, India. The reasons for his visit remain undisclosed. The star is yet to apologize to Rock for the on-camera attack.
