During the ‘2022 SBS Gayo Daejeon’ on 24th December, ITZY performed “Chesire” and “What I Want.” While all of the members displayed their powerful charisma, as usual, ITZY’s Chaeryeong appeared to struggle near the end. As soon as the performance was over, Chaeryeong was seen getting help from Lia. Furthermore, ITZY also performed as a guest at Psy’s concert on this day, causing fans to worry about Chaeryeong’s health.

In response to the issue, JYP Entertainment stated that they are investigating it. Through the online fan community, ITZY’s Chaeryeong quickly dispelled fans’ concerns. Due to the fact that the ending wasn’t originally planned, she insisted on appearing as a guest artist during the concert. During the 2022 Gayo Daejeon stage performance on December 24, 2022, ITZY’s Chaeryeong was photographed struggling to stand. Social media was flooded with videos of Chaeryeong bent over, clutching her stomach, and struggling to walk after ITZY performed. Additionally, the 21-year-old singer was assisted by fellow groupmate Lia as she climbed down the stairs. Angry fans began criticizing JYP Entertainment, the girl group’s agency, for their poor management. Due to the singer’s poor physical condition, they were disappointed in the company’s decision to allow her to perform. ITZY’s official fandom name is MIDZYs (the official fandom name of Chaeryeong). As the issue gained traction, Chaeryeong sent a message to MIDZYs on the fan-artist platform Bubble. She shared on Bubble that she let her guard down because of the rehearsals, which did not include the ending fairy moment. Despite being embarrassed, Chaeryeong repeated that it was her “stubborn decision” to perform.
