Last year, fans were left shocked and devastated when Jesy Nelson, one of the four members of “Little Mix” exited the band.
The other three members, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards were still together. Recently, an announcement was made through the official Instagram account of Little Mix and fans seem to be devastated about the news.
Did Little Mix Disband?
Little Mix took to Instagram to inform their fans that they’re going to take a break. Many fans started speculating that they were officially splitting up and took Twitter by storm after the news spread.
Amidst the rumors, the good news is that the band “Little Mix” is not splitting up. Their official statement read- “ It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.”
They also thanked their supporters for being there for them and living the journey together.
“We are not splitting up- Little Mix is here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours, and performances in the future.”
Why Did Jesy Nelson Leave?
In an interview, Jesy revealed that she left the band to take a break for her mental health. She also revealed that she felt miserable when she was in the band and she left it for good.
Her decision was supported by the other members but it might be true that she won’t join the band in the near future. However, Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Jade have told their fans that they’ll come back.
Jesy Nelson also said, “The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.”
“I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy,” added the former Little Mix member.
Fans React To The News-
Fans were quick to react to the news while the rumors spread that they have officially split up. However, some even said that they saw this coming.
One fan commented under their post saying- “Well sometimes you see things coming. Then they arrive and it still hurts.”
While people started comparing them to the boy band “One Direction” who also said that they were taking a break but it’s been years and they haven’t come back together.
One person said-“ You know who else said that? One Direction.”
Fans started saying that they have heard this before ( from One Direction) and they’re not ready for it again.
