Despite facing judgment for her appearance and sexuality for years, Billie Eilish is now speaking out about her experiences as a woman. In a recent interview for Variety’s The Power of Women issue, the 21-year-old celebrity opened up about her femininity and attraction to women. Eilish, who has fought with her appearances and identity for years since she has “never felt desired or desirable,” told the publication that she has struggled with her physical attributes and identity because she has “never felt desired or desirable.” “To be honest, I’ve not ever felt like a woman. I’ve never felt attractive. “I’ve never felt feminine,” Eilish admitted. “I have to persuade myself that I’m, like, a pretty girl.” “I identify as she/her’ and things like that,” the “Bad Guy” singer clarified, adding, “but I’ve never truly felt like a girl.”

Eilish has been relatively secretive about her personal life in the past, even though she has experienced a great lot of scrutiny over matters such as her sexuality & dating history, which she described to Variety as “weird and upsetting.” The singer was romantically linked with The Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford in October 2022. A source confirms to PEOPLE that the two singers separated in May after eight months of dating, but they “remain good friends.” Eilish dated actor Matthew Tyler Vorce for a little over a year before Rutherford, from April 2021 to May 2022. In her Apple TV+ documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, she also discussed dating and splitting up with Brandon Adams, a rapper who goes by the stage name 7:AMP.

Billie Eilish Addresses How She Is ‘Attracted’ To Women But Is ‘Intimidated’ With Their ‘Beauty’ & ‘Presence’

During a recent interview, Billie Eilish discussed her relationship with women and womanhood, revealing that she is physically drawn to women. “I’ve never truly felt like that I could relate to girls very well,” Eilish said of her relationships with other women. “I adore them to pieces. I adore them as individuals. They appeal to me as humans. I’m actually attracted to them.” “I have profound connections with women in my life, friends in my life, family in my life,” the singer concluded. I’m physically drawn to them. But I’m also terrified by them, their beauty, and their presence.” Much has been made about Eilish’s sexuality, from rumors to allegations of queerbaiting, and she has aggressively spoken out against it. In a 2021 interview with Elle, Eilish underlined that no one is entitled to clarification about her sexuality, claiming that men are not subjected to the same scrutiny as women.

Recently, Eilish has been raising fan suspicions regarding her queer identity by posting an Instagram story with a filter claiming she’s “gay and tired” and hinting at same-sex desire. Eilish also discussed her gender identity in her Variety interview. She claimed she uses she/her pronouns yet has never felt like a girl, which was exacerbated by the public discussion of her body & sexuality as a teen. “To be honest, I’ve never felt like a woman. I’ve never felt attractive. I’ve never considered myself feminine. “I have to reassure myself that I’m a pretty girl,” she explained. “Although I identify as ‘she/her,’ I’ve never truly felt like a girl.” Notably, Eilish doesn’t identify independently of the word. So imposing a label on her isn’t appropriate. Her new words, however, appear to put an end to one question: she is, in fact, attracted to women “for real.”
