YouTuber Internet Anarchist has stirred up significant online debate after alleging that fake bots are responsible for a wave of positive comments on MrBeast’s YouTube videos. Known for his controversial documentary-style content that delves into the darker side of internet fame, Internet Anarchist’s latest claims have quickly gone viral, sparking intense discussions across social media.

On August 13, 2024, Internet Anarchist took to X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots of what he described as suspicious comments under MrBeast’s recent videos. The screenshots, according to him, show a series of glowing remarks left by accounts that were allegedly created on the same day the comments were posted. Internet Anarchist’s caption read, “Is MrBeast botting fake positive comments? Several random positive comments are from accounts created the same day of commenting. Coincidence?”

The post quickly gained traction, accumulating over half a million impressions within hours. It has become a flashpoint in the ongoing discourse surrounding MrBeast, who has faced a flurry of negative attention following the Ava Kris Tyson grooming controversy a few weeks earlier. The controversy led to a slew of accusations from former employees, who released exposé videos criticizing the YouTube star.

In the wake of these events, Internet Anarchist’s suggestion that MrBeast might be using bots to flood his comment sections with positivity has added fuel to an already raging fire. Many on social media have taken the opportunity to express their doubts about MrBeast, further feeding the narrative of a possible orchestrated effort to maintain his public image amid mounting criticism.

Bot activity on social media platforms, including YouTube, has become a pervasive issue, with fake accounts often used to boost engagement or manipulate public perception. Internet Anarchist’s claims are not without precedent, as similar concerns have been raised in other corners of the online world. For instance, Twitch streamer HasanAbi recently found himself targeted by a bot posing as a fan of fellow streamer Adin Ross, demonstrating the extent to which bots can infiltrate and disrupt digital spaces.

Despite the buzz generated by Internet Anarchist’s accusations, not everyone is convinced that MrBeast is directly involved in the alleged botting. A user on X, @roecean, pointed out that the immense popularity of MrBeast’s videos naturally attracts a vast number of comments, including those from bots. “He’s the most popular creator in the world so there could be half a billion people capable of buying some sort of sh*t for his channel,” they argued, suggesting that the bot comments could be the work of third parties rather than MrBeast himself.

In response, Internet Anarchist clarified that his intention was not to directly accuse MrBeast but rather to highlight a strange pattern he observed. “Great point! Not saying this is him, just a very strange pattern of bot accounts leaving positive comments on his page,” he replied, acknowledging that the bot activity could simply be a byproduct of MrBeast’s global fame.

While bots in YouTube comments are not a novel phenomenon, the scale of MrBeast’s popularity likely amplifies the visibility of such activity. As one of the most-watched and followed content creators on the platform, his videos naturally draw immense attention, both genuine and artificial. Whether these positive comments are the result of intentional manipulation or simply a consequence of being a digital juggernaut, the debate continues, further cementing MrBeast as a lightning rod for online discourse.
