Jessica Reed Kraus shared a lengthy message in a Substack post on Tuesday. In the post, the influencer mentioned that she had an hour-and-a-half-long conversation with Johnny Depp at the start of his six-week-long trial.
Furthermore, she added that the 58-year-old actor shared his ‘musings on the death of journalistic integrity’.
Depp allegedly said, ‘I don’t know you, but I know, just by the words you use and the aesthetic in your work, that I trust you.’
Kraus continued in her post, ‘[Depp] touches briefly on the Rolling Stone article that shredded his reputation and ruined his trust in media. A betrayal he hasn’t yet recovered from.’
Depp interviewed for the widely read 2018 post. It covered the Edward Scissorhands star’s legal and financial trouble.
The pair allegedly expressed the BAFTA-winning actor’s ‘tendency to trust the wrong people, and the trouble it’s caused him in various periods throughout his life.’
The influencer described Depp’s personality during the conversations between them.
She wrote, ‘In conversation, he comes across as smart, curious, funny and polite. Prone to shifting into character voices exactly as one might expect from the Johnny Depp we know onscreen. But other than that, he is humble, down to earth, and incredibly attentive.’
In her post, Kraus mentioned that the duo bonded over their mutual love for books. She also confirmed that they would often discuss works by Hunter S. Thompson and David Foster Wallace.
