After being rejected from a famous movie universe, actress Elle Fanning revealed that she received grim feedback. During a recent interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Elle revealed her Instagram following wasn’t large enough for the studio to consider her for a role in an unnamed franchise movie. One time I wasn’t cast for a big film because I didn’t have enough Instagram followers. It may not have just been for this reason, but that was the feedback I received. Elle added That’s something I strongly believe in, for not getting a part. She said she didn’t feel obligated to join.

Elle currently has over 6.5 million Instagram followers, and said she does not think she knows. People find it beneficial, but you never know whether they’re going to work sometimes, she said. Since she was two years old, the Maleficent star has worked alongside countless Hollywood legends, including Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Chloe Sevigny, as well as some of the most iconic directors, including Sofia Coppola, David Fincher and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarrritu. On Friday (12 May), Hulu will release the third season of Fanning’s comedy-drama series, The Great, and Apple TV Plus will release it on 14 July.

Elle Fanning Revealed That She Wasn’t Accepted To A Major Film Because She Didn’t Have Enough Instagram Followers

In a recent podcast, Elle Fanning shared the harsh feedback she received following her rejection of a huge franchise film. The younger sister of Dakota Fanning, Fanning gained fame with roles in a number of Noughties classics including Because of Winn-Dixie and Daddy Day Care, followed by Super 8 and We Bought a Zoo, and more recent shows like The Great and The Girl From Plainville. The 25-year-old actress was asked on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast whether there’s pressure for young actors today to be “entrenched” in franchises in order to stay relevant. In spite of the fact that she herself “doesn’t feel that pressure”, she acknowledged that it “obviously does something for people”. It can also be scary because you don’t know if it’s going to work sometimes. Towards the end of the interview, Fanning described a time when things did not work out for her on a big franchise film project.

It’s something I strongly disagree with, for not getting a role. In a recent interview, she refused to disclose the project’s name, but she currently has a following of 6.2 million on Instagram. Having begun acting at the age of two, Maleficent’s star Elle Fanning has worked with Hollywood legends including Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Chloe Sevigny as well as directors Sofia Coppola, David Fincher, and Alejandro González Iárritu. The Great, Fanning’s new comedy-drama series, premieres on Hulu in the US on Friday (12 May) and on Apple TV Plus in the UK on 14 July.
