Iggy Azalea Clears the Air on Alleged Letter of Support for Tory Lanez Amid Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Controversy

Iggy Azalea has been talked about on social media after she wrote a letter of support for Tory Lanez. Lanez has been in jail since late 2022 over charges of first-degree assault and more. Recently, during a court hearing though, it came out that Iggy Azalea had written a letter of support for Tory Lanez. Post which she had to clarify about the same to all.

Tory Lanez, the Canadian rapper whose real name is Daystar Peterson has been in jail since December 2022. The charges on him that landed him in jail were first-degree assault, having an unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and more. Not to miss, Megan Thee Stallion had accused the Canadian rapper of shooting her too.

Recently on 7th August, a court hearing was held for sentencing the rapper. Some of the letters that were summarised too in the court were about Tory Lanez. One of the letters out of which has been of Iggy Azalea, the Australian rapper.

As the letters in the Tory Lanez case were being summarised by the judge. One of the letters of support for Tory Lanez came out to be from Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. This has made many criticize her and question too on social media.

It was Meghann Cuniff, the court reporter who revealed that one of the letters received in the court was from Iggy Azalea. In the letter Azalea had requested Tory Lanez to be given a sentence that’s “transformational, not life-destroying”. Though, Azalea has now come forward to speak up about the letter of hers.

Azalea opens up on her letter of support for Tory Lanez

Iggy Azalea has received mixed reactions on social media over her letter of support for Tory Lanez. In fact, post all of this she had to come forward herself to clarify the whole thing. In her post shared on Twitter

, she mentioned the reasons why she wrote that letter.

She cited her reasons as “1. I haven not been in touch with tory for months, I have no reason to be, but i do wish him well”. She added “2. I don’t “support” anyone. The whole thing is full of oddities. My letter never mentioned anything in regard to what happened that night”. “3. I was told this was for a judge only, yet it’s being discussed in public? I never intended to publicly comment”. Azalea made some more posts sharing her views on her letter being so talked about in public.
