Ice Spice is crediting her father for signature curly hair

Ice Spice did not hold back when she recently sat down for an interview with Erykah Badu and her daughter Puma Curry for Interview Magazine.

Moreover, the upcoming rap star opened up about her decision to not be under the knife while she embarks on her Hip-Hop career.

In addition, Ice Spice also shared how she came up with her signature hair and style.

She explained, ‘There’s definitely a starter pack, and I see a lot of girls doing it. I feel like it doesn’t apply to me all the way.’

Furthermore, she added, ‘My hair is short as f***, it’s not swinging down my back. My whole body’s natural, even though some people try to accuse me of surgery. Only thing thick is my teeth, which I got to get redone. And my nails. I be having some fake-ass nails.’

Ice Spice also revealed that she started wearing her natural hair in late 2021 when she dropped the music video for her single, ‘No Clarity.’

The Texas artist, Badu then went on to ask, ‘What made you feel brave about it?’

The young artist replied by crediting her father. She claimed that her father always said sentimental things to her that made her feel confident about her looks.

Ice recalled that often her father would tell her, ‘It’s beautiful, you’re beautiful, wear your natural hair.’

Ice Spice revealed the female rappers that have inspired her the most during her recent interview with Interview Magazine.

At the beginning of the interview, Erykah Badu quizzed the 22-year-old about her inspirations.

Ice Spice on the other hand responded with, ‘You definitely inspired me—my parents would play Baduizm top to bottom, like, all day. And Lil’ Kim, Nicki, Foxy, Remy, they’re all huge inspos for me.’

Subsequently, Puma Curry asked her about the artist with whom she would consider a dream collaboration.

However, the Bronx native did not hesitate with her answer as she simply replied with, ‘I have to say Nicki because that’s just like, duh.’

Ice Spice then went on to say, ‘She would eat that s**t up, too. But another dream collab is Doja Cat.’
