Ice Cube has spoken out about his connection with Kanye West, who stated last year that the West Coast superstar was the source of his antisemitism. He addressed the issue during a Sky News Australia interview with Piers Morgan on Monday night (July 17). “We were always cool,” remarked Ice Cube of his friendship with Kanye West. It was hard for me to put that claim out there, because he spoke my name without really clarifying what he meant,” he said. “I had to kind of rebut that.” Cube, who was seen hugging Ye last month, claims the two had settled their differences. “Since then, we’ve talked,” he added. “I think Ye comprehends that generalizing is always going to get you in more trouble than being very specific,” Kanye West stated in his viral Drink Champs interview last year.

According to ‘Ye, Cube set me up for this. You influenced me to adopt a strong antisemitic attitude. And I’m here to wrap up the job. I’m right here to not back down.” Ice Cube denied the claim on Twitter, writing, “I resent that my name was dragged into this. He further requested that his name be removed from “all the antisemitic talk,” claiming that “I didn’t put the batteries in his back.” In another interview with Piers Morgan, Ice Cube stated that Kanye West is “doing great.” He did, however, hint at the Yeezy founder’s $75 million legal battle with Adidas, saying, “He’s continuing to deal with certain individuals attempting to hold onto his money.” The N.W.”I think he’s learnt a lot from this past year,” a rapper added. And perhaps he’ll come out on the other side better.”
I hate that my name was dragged into this Drunk Champs bullshit. I don’t know what Ye meant by his statements, you’re gonna have to ask him. I didn’t put the batteries in his back. Please leave my name out of all the antisemitic talk. I’m not antisemitic and never have been.

ICE Cube Talks About His Relationship With Kanye West After Ye Claimed The N.W.A Rapper Inspired His Anti-Semitism
Ice Cube claims Kanye West is “in a good space” following a contentious year in which he went on multiple anti-Semitic tirades. “I believe he’s doing great,” the ex-N.W.A rapper said on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Monday. Cube stated that West continues to fight for accessibility to some of his money, but that he is “in a good space” for the most part. “I think he’s grown a lot from this past year, and perhaps he’ll come out stronger on the other side,” the “Straight Outta Compton” rapper said. Cube, 54, said he discussed the tirades with West, 46, in which he admired Hitler and tweeted ongoing “death con 3” on Jewish people, and how he addressed his views incorrectly. “I felt that if he was really upset with specific people, the message he was saying would kind of hijack what he’s really upset about,” the “Friday” star explained. “That’s exactly what occurred. You just cannot generalize; you must be precise, especially when discussing anyone or any race.”
Cube reiterated that West should have defined who he was referring to rather than generalizing “race.” Last year, the “Jesus Walks” rapper and Cube had a disagreement after the former stated on “Drink Champs” that Cube had “really influenced” him to “get on this antisemite vibe.” The “Ride Along” singer quickly turned to Twitter to refute West’s claims. “I despise that my name has been pulled into this Drunk Champs bulls-t,” Cube said last October. “You’ll have to ask Ye what he meant by his statements. “I didn’t put the batteries in his back. Please keep my name out of any anti-Semitic remarks. I am not and have never been anti-Semitic.” During an appearance on the British broadcaster’s show, the “F-k tha Police” rapper stated that he and West were “cool,” but that the “All of the Lights” musician failed to explain “what he meant.” “So I had to rebut that,” Cube continued.
