However, it was back in 2022 again and this time it looked a bit different. As this new “Orbeez challenge” this time showed users on TikTok firing water-filled beads at random strangers on the streets. It’s been now taken as a threat for all be it the one at whom the beads are fired or to the one who fires it.
Threats with the “Orbeez challenge”
The Orbeez challenge that was going popular again this year has not been taken lightly this time. While this TikTok trend showed some teenagers firing the water beads with toy fire guns at random strangers. It looked as if water beads can’t harm anyone. However, it isn’t so as they have come with a serious threat this time.
Though water beads seem soft, yet when fired with a toy fire gun they can harm and damage the skin badly. Sometimes the injury with these water beads can be really serious leaving the skin permanently damaged.
Police have issued warnings against Orbeez challenge
As this TikTok trend went viral, there was a report stating that a few teenagers were arrested following damage to the person who was hit by the water beads via the toy fire gun. Ever since then, the police have issued warning against this Orbez challenge stating it is harmful to whoever uses and tries it.
Meanwhile, police have also advised the parents to talk about the consequences of this trend on people with their children. Also, they have insisted all not try this harmful and dangerous trend. Hence despite its popularity at the TikTok app, there’s the advisory issued not to take ahead this trend that’s posing severe threats to many.
