Romanian authorities confirmed his presence in the country after viewing the video and taking action against him. After his house was raided in Bucharest, Mr Tate and his brother Tristan were detained along with two Romanian suspects, according to Reuters. According to Reuters, the four suspects “appear to have formed an organised crime group with the purpose of forcing women to create pornographic content for viewing on specialized websites for a fee. Several guns, knives, and money were shown on display in one room of Mr Tate’s house in a video released by Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).

According to reports, controversial online influencer Andrew Tate has been arrested in Romania in connection with a rape and human trafficking investigation. His house in Bucharest, the capital, was raided by the Romanian authorities while he was being detained along with his brother Tristan.
