Call of Duty came under hot waters after it was revealed that the suspect of the Highland Park shooting uploaded videos of the game.

Here is everything you need to know.

Highland Park shooter posted videos of Call of Duty

Robert “Bobby” E. Crimo III, the person of interest, who allegedly shot the crowd in a Chicago suburb on Monday, posted videos of playing Call of Duty.

It was concluded that Crimo was interested in violence after analyzing the thousands of messages he posted on social media.

The 21-year-old young man also shared clips of his gaming avatar shooting his opponents from rooftops. The virtual scene was eerily similar to the bloody massacre that took place in Illinois on the fourth of July.

In the gaming videos, gunshots can be heard with players laughing, yelling, and directing one another. The voice of Crimo remains unclear in the clip.

Regardless it seems like Crimo had turned his virtual gaming character into reality when he stood on a rooftop and opened fire ‘sniper-style’ during the Independence Day parade.

Crimo took the lives of seven innocent people with his Smith & Wesson rifle and left 47 wounded. He is presently charged with seven counts of first-degree murder with dozens more charges expected.

He said, ‘It is believed that this particular person was the one who was responsible for what took place.’

Covelli added that the cops tracked Crimo because of a ‘significant amount of digital evidence.’

Crimo also had an account on an online forum called Documenting Reality, where users share content displaying the aftermath of violence.

Jared Holt, a member of the Atlantic Council mentioned, ‘It was pretty clear that this suspect had a history online of glorifying and fantasizing about violence. To me, that sends a red flag on top of a red flag.’

Crimo is also a rapper who performs under the name Awake the Rapper. His fascination with violence can be seen in his music which he regularly published on Spotify and YouTube.
