Heath Freeman passed away at the age of 41. His manager, Joe S. Montifiore confirmed the news of Freeman’s death back in November. The cause of his death has come to light four months following the actor’s demise. He played the role of Gavin Dillon in the American legal drama series Raising the Bar. He also appeared on Bones (as serial killer Howard Epps), NCIS, and Skateland.

Reports revealed that the Bones actor died after he overdosed on narcotics and opioids. According to the report, Freeman lay unconscious in his bed after a night of partying at his Texas home. This incident happened last November.

Moreover, his system contained a deadly mix of alcohol and drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and alprazolam. According to the report, Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene after being found unresponsive in bed at his Austin, Texas, home. In addition, the police found oxycodone and alprazolam in Freeman’s home. The combination is commonly called Xanax.

Afterward, the Travis County medical examiner ruled that his death was an accident.

As a guest star on an episode of ER in 2001, Freeman debuted on the hit NBC series. In addition to Benjamin Frank in a 2003 episode of NCIS, Gavin Dillon starred from 2007 to 2009 in Raising the Bar. He starred in Fox’s Bones from 2005 to 2009 as killer Howard Epps and they were among his best roles. Several of Freeman’s forthcoming films, including Devil’s Fruit, The Outlaw Johnny Black, and Terror on the Prairie, are in post-production at the time of his death.
