HasanAbi Criticizes Asmongold Over VTuber Viewing Amid Ava Kris Tyson Controversy.

Streamer HasanAbi has aimed Twitch streamer Asmongold, accusing him of hypocrisy over his criticism of Ava Kris Tyson while he allegedly watches a VTuber with a young-looking avatar. This spat comes amid the fallout from Ava Kris Tyson’s controversy regarding her association with lolicon content—a genre depicting characters that appear childlike or underage.

HasanAbi didn’t hold back, calling out Asmongold for his inconsistency during a stream discussing the Ava Kris Tyson situation. He pointed out that Asmongold often watches videos from ‘Rev says desu,’ a male VTuber who uses an avatar of a young female character. HasanAbi stated, “It’s hilarious because we are talking about Loli, we are talking about Loli and how unacceptable and inappropriate it is. Asmongold was talking about the Ava Kris Tyson situation and I don’t even know if he brought up Shadman but he literally every day watches a Loli VTuber describe the latest and greatest of the Gamergate world.”

HasanAbi went further, highlighting what he perceives as Asmongold’s contradictory behavior: “So how do you exist in this space where on the one hand you say this Loli sh*t is weird and gross while you literally watch a Loli VTuber on a daily basis?”

Asmongold’s Response to the Accusations

In response, Asmongold addressed HasanAbi’s accusations during his own stream. He clarified that HasanAbi was referring to his viewership of videos by Rev says desu. “Hasan does this a lot where he will exaggerate something. Like, I have obviously watched videos of VTubers, right? I am assuming he is talking about Rev, right? People have typed that to me before saying Rev is like a Loli character,” Asmongold explained.

Asmongold defended his actions, stating he does not have an issue with young-looking avatars unless they are used in a sexual context. “I have looked at Rev’s videos before, yeah I like the videos. I think that really, it depends on how you look at it. To me I don’t think there’s a problem with having an avatar of a character where it’s younger. The problem is when it is sexualized,” he said.

Addressing Hypocrisy Claims

Asmongold firmly denied any hypocrisy in his actions, pointing out that none of Rev’s videos he has watched sexualize the avatar. “In none of the videos that I have watched of Rev has he ever sexualized the avatar in any capacity at all, and if he did, I would say that it’s wrong. So it’s not really hypocritical,” he stated.

He also responded to HasanAbi’s reference to Shadman, a controversial figure not mentioned in Asmongold’s discussions about Ava Kris Tyson. “I did not even talk about the Shadman stuff. I didn’t even know who that was. So, yeah, it’s the same like, here’s the thing. Hasan had this happen when he interviewed that pirate,” Asmongold remarked.

To illustrate his point, Asmongold brought up an incident where HasanAbi interviewed a supposed Houthi pirate known for antisemitic posts on social media. Asmongold argued that just as HasanAbi shouldn’t be seen as supporting antisemitism due to the interview, he shouldn’t be judged for the content creators he watches. “I know that Hasan doesn’t support that. And just because Hasan has a person like that on his stream, doesn’t necessarily mean he approves or agrees with every single thing that person says. So, I think that’s the case with me and that’s the case with anybody else,” he explained.

Asmongold concluded his defense by emphasizing that he doesn’t meticulously vet every content creator whose videos he watches. “Whenever I watch a person’s YouTube videos, I don’t go through their social media and make sure I look at every single thing that this person has ever said or done to make sure nothing is incongruent with what my worldview is. I don’t give a s**t about that,” he stated.

The Ava Kris Tyson controversy, which involves allegations of grooming and pedophilia, has been a hot topic online. Tyson, formerly associated with MrBeast’s team, announced her departure from the group amid the uproar. As the debate continues, both HasanAbi and Asmongold’s perspectives highlight the complexities and ethical considerations surrounding content consumption in the digital age.
