Mary Jane Thomas, the wife of country music artist Hank Williams Jr, passed away due to a collapsed lung only a day after cosmetic surgery.

Hank Williams Jr’s wife’s cause of death revealed
A Florida coroner has confirmed that Hank Williams Jr’s wife Mary Jane Thomas passed away from a collapsed lung following plastic surgery.
The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner has listed Mary’s death as an accident. They also revealed that she died after sustaining a fatal injury during the cosmetic procedure.
The Examiner mentioned that the 58-year-old former Hawaiian Tropic model underwent liposuction on her back, arms, and stomach on 21st March. They also shared that Mary had her breast implants removed.
Regardless, the following day she was found unresponsive in her hotel room at the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa by her plastic surgeon.
Dr. Harold Bafitis, who performed the plastic surgery, claimed that Mary was responsive and was sitting upright on her bed when he went for a follow-up meeting with her.
However, Mary was immediately rushed over to a nearby local hospital. She traveled from Nashville to Jupiter, Florida for the cosmetic procedure.
Furthermore, Mary was announced dead about an hour after she lost consciousness.
Hank Williams Jr and Mary Jane Thomas’s relationship
Hank Williams Jr and Mary Jane Thomas first met in one of his concerts in 1985. Five years later they tied the knot in 1990.
The couple was parents to two children, a daughter, Katherine Williams-Dunning, and a son, Samuel Williams.
Hank and Mary went through a rough patch in 2007 when they separated. However, they found their way back and rekindled their relationship in 2011.
Mary is the third wife of the country music star. He first married Gwen Yeargain in 1971 but filed for a divorce in 1977. They share one son named Hank Williams III.
Hank then went on to marry Becky White in 1977. Nevertheless, they confirmed their split in 1983. The former couple had two daughters, Holly and Hilary Williams. They both are pursuing a career in the music industry.
Hank and Mary were also grandparents to their late daughter, Katie’s children, Beau Weston Dunnings and Audrey Jane Dunnings, and Sam’s son named Tennyson.
Katie died in a car crash in Tennessee in 2020 after she lost control of the SUV she was driving.
Sam said in a YouTube video following her sister’s death, ‘I have worked my broken heart to quit since my dear Katie left for Home. I do not deserve this. This is a scary step but I don’t see what else to do here.’
