Model Hailey Bieber recently shared intimate details about her relationship with singer-husband Justin Bieber, the criticism they’ve faced, and her decision to keep her pregnancy private in an interview with W Magazine. The 27-year-old opened up about the emotional toll the public scrutiny has had on her, despite her attempts to appear unaffected.

Hailey Bieber revealed, “People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one. ‘Oh, they’re falling apart. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy. I used to try to act like it hurts less and less. I’ve tried to think that you get used to it at a certain point, that this is what’s going to be said and this is how people are going to be. But I realize that it doesn’t actually ever hurt any less.”

Earlier this year, rumors circulated that the couple was experiencing “difficult times.” In May, Hailey and Justin announced not only that they were expecting their first child but also that they had renewed their vows. Hailey explained her decision to keep her pregnancy private for the first six months, attributing it to her desire for privacy and her ability to conceal her pregnancy due to her small size.

“I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time. I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it,” she said. “I was able to wear big jackets and stuff. I probably could have hid it until the end. But I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”

In addition to her candid reflections on their relationship and pregnancy, Hailey Bieber also revealed that Justin recently gifted her a new engagement ring. The ring, designed by Lorraine Schwartz, is a four-prong, oval-cut stone that weighs one carat more than her previous 18-carat Solow & Co engagement ring from 2018. The new ring first appeared on Hailey’s Instagram on May 25, where fans quickly noticed the difference.

“Actually, this is only one carat bigger. It’s just elongated. They’re going off with their own stories about it. I don’t like it. I didn’t wanna talk about it,” Hailey commented on the speculation surrounding the ring.

The couple, who tied the knot in September 2018 after officially dating since 2016, renewed their vows in Hawaii and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. While they haven’t shared the exact due date, they announced that Hailey was six months pregnant as of May 10, 2024.

Reflecting on the early days of her pregnancy, Hailey Bieber described herself as “super emotional” and reiterated the negativity they faced from outsiders. Despite the constant barrage of rumors and criticism, the couple remains steadfast in their commitment to each other and their growing family.

On Instagram, Hailey shared a poignant post featuring a photo of her painted nails holding a bowl, with the new ring prominently visible. The post also included images of Hailey flaunting her baby bump and another with Justin, captioned: “Little cherry blossoms on my nails, little cherry blossom in my belly.”

Hailey’s openness about her struggles and joys offers a glimpse into the reality behind the glamorous façade, highlighting the challenges of maintaining a public relationship under intense scrutiny. As the couple prepares for their new chapter as parents, they continue to navigate the complexities of fame and personal life with resilience and grace.
