GUNNA ARRESTED
According to WSBTV reporter Michael Seiden’s Twitter tweet. Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens. Was booked into Fulton County Jail in the early hours of Wednesday, May 11th. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office announced Gunna’s surrender around 2.30 a.m. local time. Two days after Young Thug was arrested. Gunna is scheduled to appear in court for the first time today (Wednesday, May 11th). Seiden tweeted a mugshot of the 28-year-old rapper immediately after news of his arrest surfaced.
GUNNA AND YOUNG THUG CHARGES EXPLAINED
As previously reported, Gunna and Young Thug’s allegations originate from a 56-count indictment that also includes other members of Young Thug’s collective and record label YSL. Gunna is charged with conspiracy to violate the RICO Legislation. While Young Thug is charged with “membership in street gang activities and conspiracy to violate” the same act. Young Thug, actual name Jeffery Lamar Williams, has refuted all allegations.
“I’ll give you the reaction to any charge; Mr Williams did no crime whatsoever. And we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him,” Williams’ defense attorney, Brian Steel, told reporters. At the time of writing, Gunna and his legal team had not issued a statement. On Tuesday, May 10th, Young Thug appeared in court via video conference from Fulton County Jail, according to HipHopDX. After being detained at his house in Atlanta, Georgia, the 30-year-old rapper formally read his charges.
