Following her explosive charges of domestic abuse against Johnny Depp in court last week, all elements of Amber Heard’s testimony have been dissected on social media, including whether or not her injuries were caused by altercations with her ex-husband.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing Heard for defamation over an op-ed she penned in The Washington Post in 2018 about domestic abuse. She is countersuing for damages of $100 million.

Heard said she was head-butted by Depp during an altercation in December 2015 when delivering testimony in court on May 5.

Amber Heard’s accusations that she was a victim of domestic violence when married to Johnny Depp aroused controversy on the internet. Some speculated that her wounds were caused by physical altercations with her ex-husband, which raised eyebrows.

Depp’s fans have been actively posting online messages suggesting that the bruises on Heard’s face are the result of cosmetic treatments rather than fighting.

Fans also resorted to social media to claim that Heard was not a victim of abuse, comparing her photo to that of Rihanna.

Amber Heard’s comments drew the ire of a cosmetic surgeon.

Dr Dan Dhunna, a cosmetic surgeon from London, spoke to Newsweek about the scenario. He explained that determining the source of bruises is difficult because various factors might produce them.
