Jackson Wang from GOT7 recently talked about how he suffered from depression as he did not feel satisfied with his music work.

Jackson Wang opens up about suffering from depression

Jackson Wang recently sat down with Vogue for the behind-the-scenes coverage of his  Head in the Clouds Festival performance. 

During the interview, the 28-year-old soloist shared that he has never been satisfied with his musical work until his latest album which is titled, MAGICMAN.

He said, ‘I’ve never been satisfied with myself my whole life, no matter what I do. And I think this album (MAGIC MAN) is the first time that I think it’s okay. I’ve never been this raw in my life.’

Furthermore, the idol explained, ‘I’ve been in this industry for eight, nine years to a point that I was lost and everything fell into a loop. You know it’s just things after things, schedules after schedules. I was so depressed.’

Wang shared, ‘I just felt like, “You know what? Whoever I was, whatever I was, I want [to] just leave that behind and start fresh. And I wanna be me for a second.” A 100% me. Being honest to my audience and just letting them know who I really am.’

Moreover, he continued, ‘I might not be perfect, you know? Not everybody might like me. But at least if you like me, if you support me, you’re supporting the real Jackson.’

Jackson Wang finally dropped his sophomore studio album, MAGIC MAN on 9th September. It was one of the most anticipated records.

The album consists of ten tracks with three singles Blow, Cruel, and Blue being released before the album’s release.

It was released via TEAM WANG records, 88rising Records, Warner Records, and RYCE MUSIC GROUP. Moreover, Daryl K, Henry Cheung, and Wang himself serve as producers of the album.

Meanwhile, Wang shared his feelings about his recent album.

He said, ‘MAGIC MAN is the ultimate form of oneself, having gone through different peaks and valleys of life to arrive at the most authentic version. Everyone is able to become their own form of MAGIC MAN.’
