The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested actor Joseph Gatt for allegedly harassing a minor online.
On 6th April the actor was arrested at his home by the cops from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, according to a statement released by the LAPD on Tuesday.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a regional police division in the city of Los Angeles. The ICAC Task Force currently incorporates over 100 federal as well as local afflicted branches. They catch child predators that use online social media platforms as a way to reach out to minors and harass them. The ICAC Task Force also investigates whether a child is sexually abused on the internet.

The 50-year-old actor was arrested in the early morning on Wednesday by the detectives of Los Angeles police. Gatt was charged with the offense of victimizing a minor.
The LAPD announced his arrest for an outstanding felony warrant of Contact with a Minor for Sexual Offense under the California Penal Code.
The ICAC Task Force received a tip that Gatt was engaging in an explicit communication with a minor online. Hence they served a residential search warrant at Gatt’s home.
Details on Gatt’s trial have not been released as of yet. His case is still an ongoing investigation by the ICAC Task Force. The LAPD is currently searching for other victims that may have been harassed by Joseph Gatt.
Joseph Gatt comments on the allegations
Joseph Gatt was granted a bail of $5,000 and was released on the same day i.e. 6th April.
The actor addressed the issue on Wednesday by sharing a statement on all his social media accounts.
Gatt has stated in the post that the allegations against him are completely horrifying and wrong. He also added that they are 110% categorically untrue.
He further stated that he will be cooperating with LAPD detectives as well as the cops to resolve this matter.
Gatt took the platform to appreciate his friends and fans who know the allegations against him are false. However, he didn’t reveal any information on the ongoing case due to legal issues.
Other than HBO’s Game of Thrones, Gatt has featured in series such as Chuck, Teen Wolf, and NCIS: New Orleans. He also appeared in Marvel’s Thor and the live-action adaptation of Dumbo released in 2019.
