The Fall of the House of Usher’s Frank Langella has been fired from Netflix. Langella, who was due to feature in a starring role in Netflix’s eight-episode limited series based on Edgar Allan Poe’s works, was fired after an investigation into allegations of misbehavior leveled against him. The now-completed investigation found that the Oscar-nominated actor engaged in unprofessional behavior during production. As a result, the part of Roderick Usher — the heir to the Usher dynasty — has been recast.

Who is Frank Langella?

Frank Langella, an Oscar nominee, has been cast as the lead in Netflix’s eight-episode limited series based on Edgar Allan Poe’s works, The Fall of the House of Usher. Langella was the focus of an inquiry that was finished. It was concluded that Langella had engaged in unprofessional behavior on set. As a result, I’ve learned, the decision has been made to recast Roderick Usher’s character. While The Fall of the House of Usher is currently in post-production, scenes already shot by Langella will be reshot whenever Roderick’s character is recast. Filming on the show hasn’t been fully suspended, with Netflix continuing to shoot scenes that don’t feature Roderick Usher until a replacement actor is found. Netflix has not responded to ET’s request for comment, but ET has reached out to Langella’s representative for comment.
