Gavan O’Herlihy, the star of “Happy Days,” has died. He was 70 years old. On Thursday, O’Herlihy’s representative revealed that he died on September 15 in England.

Therefore, In a statement to People, Emptage stated, “He was a brilliant actor with a long and illustrious career in cinema, television, and stage.”

“All who knew Gavan, especially his lovely wife and family, adored and respected him for his directness, sincerity, and honesty – he is deeply missed by all who knew him,” the statement read.

The manner of death is yet unknown. O’Herlihy’s agency did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

On Happy Days, he played Chuck Cunningham, the eldest brother. Until the episode “Guess Who’s Coming to Christmas,” he was replaced by Randolph Roberts. Chuck was never seen again, but he was mentioned in a few more episodes, the last of which being “Fish and the Fins.” Following that, Chuck was totally written off the show, with succeeding episodes presenting the Cunningham family as having only two children, Richie being the older.
