Francis Mossman, The ‘Spartacus’ and ‘The Horizon’ Actor, Dies at 33

The Television actor Francis “Frankie” Mossman, who displayed his acting skills globally in television shows died. Mossman was famous for his witty acting, in Television shows like Spartacus and The Horizon. The 33 –years old actor’s death was confirmed by his brothers, who were unable to describe any cause of death. A page GoFundMe by Mossman’s brothers has been trying to recover the remains from Sydney.

The Mossman brothers will organize the funeral in New Zealand. He took his own life on the 14^th of August. Francis was said to be a well-respected member of the acting community. All of Australia was a fan of his energetic acting skills and his beautiful smile. Mossman started his career in New Zealand by acting in a soap opera, Shortland Street. He then acted on The Amazing Extraordinary Friends in 2008, that too, in New Zealand.

He started getting globally famous after playing the role of Vitus in the Starz series Spartacus. Mossman decided to act in Australia Web Series The Horizon as Stevie Hughes, from 2013 to 2017. His last cameo was in Dis-Connect, a short series in 2020. According to GoFundMe, Mossman’s mother wants to see her son one last time. The app is trying to collect money for that to happen.

A friend of his later provided the information on the cause of his death. He said that Mossman was struggling with his mental health during the lockdown. The news of Fellow actor Dieter Brummer’s death came into the limelight just three weeks before Mossman’s death. Brummer was struggling in Covid lockdown too. On the 4^th of August, Mossman posted several photos on Instagram of himself with his dog, Piper. He lost his 5- years old dog IN May, Hoff.

The Mossman brothers, Laurence and Jeremy, and their mother, May posted tributes to their beloved family members. The Casting Guild of Australia has started a campaign called Shoulder2Shoulder to help the actors suffering from mental illness. His death news made thousands of his fans sad and they started paying their tributes on Twitter.

He came out as Gay years ago. He was a great supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and also had them as his friends. Many LGBTQ+ communities came forward to pay their respects to the 33-year-old Francis Mossman. Mossman was born in Auckland on the 14th of April 1988 and died by Suicide on the 14^th of August 2021.
