Fetty Wap pleads guilty to a drug conspiracy and faces a five-year prison sentence

Rapper Fetty Wap is facing a minimum five-year term behind the bars after pleading guilty to a federal drug charge.

Fetty Wap pleads guilty to a drug conspiracy

On Monday, Fetty Wap pleaded guilty to conspiracy over drug charges in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Locke. He made the plea at the court in Central Islip on Long Island.

Fetty Wap whose real name is William Junior Maxwell II was taken into custody last October. He was charged with, ‘conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances, including cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.’

Furthermore, he did not request to be released on bond and remains in custody. 

According to the U.S. The Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York stated that as of now no sentencing date is scheduled.

Fetty and five other co-defendants were accused of using the U.S. Postal Service to distribute over 100 kilograms of illegal substances.

As per reports, they also used hidden compartments in a vehicle to distribute them to dealers. They conducted it between June 2019 and June 2020 from the West Coast to Long Island and New Jersey. 

Fetty Wap’s bond was revoked

Fetty Wap was released on a $500,000 bond following his arrest at that time. However, two weeks later his bond was revoked by U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Locke.

The Trap Queen performer allegedly violated the terms of his release by threatening to kill someone during a FaceTime call. Moreover, he brandished a gun before the person as well. 

The court paper listed the person as, ‘John Doe.’ 

FBI special agent Derek Wonderland mentioned in an affidavit, ‘According to John Doe, the FaceTime call occurred on December 11, 2021.’

He added, ‘And in the call, the defendant possessed a gun, threatened to kill him, and called an individual a ‘rat,’ despite the fact that this was a direct violation of both state law and the conditions of his release.’

The affidavit read that the FBI has collected a video recording which shows the rapper, ‘holding a gun and pointing it towards John Doe’ during a FaceTime call 

Regardless, the affidavit claimed, ‘The defendant then says to John Doe, “Imma kill you and everybody you with.” He then repeats one more time.’

It further said, ‘The defendant then continues to threaten John Doe, saying “I’m gonna kill you.” A threat which he repeats several more times throughout the video call.’
