While both Russia and Ukraine aren’t part of NATO, there are experts trying to figure out how NATO plays a key role in the growing tension between the two countries.

Why Isn’t Ukraine A Part Of Nato?
While the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is growing strong, there’s NATO being a key reason why things aren’t waning. It’s rooted all in the history of the two countries and its connection with the organization that Ukraine has been in a war-like situation with Russia. Basically, it’s Russia’s conflict with NATO that Ukraine is facing the current situation.
As per the reports, Russia has never had a good equation with the organization and Ukraine is now trying to be a member of NATO which will be disliked by Russia a lot. Ukraine however hasn’t been added as a member of NATO because of its lengthy process of admission. Moreover, the current state of Ukraine won’t let it become a member of the organization soon either.
Why Is Russia Trying To Invade Ukraine?
As both Russia and Ukraine aren’t a part of NATO hence, even Ukraine isn’t getting the strong support of NATO which only a NATO member can exercise. NATO gives a special privilege to all its member countries as when any of its member country is invaded, all the member of the organization act as one to defend the invaded country.
Russia, on the other hand, knows that if Ukraine becomes a NATO member, it would try to overpower Russia, and thus it’s trying to control Ukraine by military actions. However, Ukraine is still to enjoy the privilege of being a NATO member.
Is Nato Supporting Ukraine?
Though Ukraine isn’t a part of NATO hence the organization has been not been supporting Ukraine as per the terms that allow only support to the member countries. Yet the other member countries are supporting Ukraine currently. Certainly, Russia wants an assurance to have Ukraine not as a member of the organization ever.
Though, all the countries are worried over the situation between the two countries, it would be important to see how things sort out between the two.
