Grimes explained the meaning of Exa Dark Sideræl

While in an interview to the Vanity Fair, Grimes explained how and why she chose the name Exa Dark Sideræl. She went on to explain that the first word of the name is taken from ExaFlops that’s a supercomputing term. Dark however for Grimes meant to indicate “something that’s not known”.

Adding to the last part of her daughter’s name she revealed that Sideræl means the time of the universe more belonging to the stars, space. She added that the last name isn’t connected to the time of the earth. Certainly, that indicates how unique is the name of Elon Musk’s daughter with complete out-of-the-world meaning to it.

Grimes explained the pronunciation of Sideræl

While Grimes said that Exa and Dark is easy to pronounce, the pronunciation of Sideræl is however a bit different. If you go for pronouncing the last word of her daughter’s name then it sounds like “sigh-deer-ee-el”. Moreover, this isn’t the first time the couple has amazed all with their unique choices of name. As they already gave something similar yet different name to their son.
