Fortunately, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Princess Poppy explained why she chose the shocking look for the recent Emmys event.

Princess Poppy from Drag Race explained to Entertainment Weekly the reason behind choosing her look for the Emmys 2024. She said, “I wanted to do the exact opposite of what is expected of you when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take decorum and turn it on its head”.
She added, “Mainly i wanted to be a troll-slash-hag. I wanted to be so shocking that you just have to turn and look at me-in the worst way possible”. Not to forget, for the Emmys 2024 event, Princess Poppy had her look of a green goblin with the creature’s signature ears and nose. The all-green appearance, which included green-colored skin, dress, accessories, and footwear, was truly head-turning.

About stepping away from drag, Princess Poppy told EW back in 2023, “I want to fall off the face of the planet. I don’t want to be famous, I want to fade into obscurity”. Drag Race star had told, “It’s totally valid to not want to be known by a bunch of people. That’s not just what I want. I don’t want that for my life”.
