Emma Roberts Apologizes to Angelica Ross Amid Transphobia Accusations on ‘American Horror Story

Angelica Ross stated on Wednesday that her American Horror Story: 1984 co-star Emma Roberts has apologised after Ross accused Roberts of misgendering her on the set of the Ryan Murphy series earlier in the day. “Okay ladies, that’s enough,” stated the crew member, hoping to relieve the tension. “Let’s get back to work,” Roberts allegedly said, to which Roberts replied, “Don’t you mean lady?” Ross, who described the encounter as “boiling,” said she was hesitant to speak out about Roberts’ behaviour for fear of penalties. “I’m like, if I mention something, it’s going to be my problem,” she explained. “I know this because someone spoke out regarding what she was doing, and they suffered as a result.” Ross revealed that she was “done” with Roberts after the event and avoided her for the remainder of the season of AHS: 1984, the ninth season of the horror franchise that premiered in the autumn of 2019 on FX.

Emma Roberts Apologises To Angelica Ross On The Set Of ‘American Horror Story’ For Supposed Transphobia
Angelica Ross alleges Emma Roberts apologised for her behaviour on the set of American Horror Story: 1984. One day after Ross, 42, alleged her former costar, 32, of using a transphobic remark on the set of the FX series Pose, Roberts sought to make amends on X (previously known as Twitter). “Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologising, recognising your behaviour was not that of an ally,” she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. “I am going to keep the phone line accessible for you to catch up on your commitment to do better good and support initiatives that promote justice via your platform.” Ross, who is transgender, initially addressed the alleged event on an Instagram Live on Tuesday, which was filmed by an AHS fan account. Ross stated in the video that the altercation between her and Roberts, whom she only identified by first name and initials, occurred while they were shooting the anthology series together. “I’m standing right in front of Emma, responding to her in this manner, and she’s standing in front of me, with her back to the mirror.”
“She goes, ‘John, Angelica’s being mean,'” she alleged, implying AHS director John J. Grey. Grey, according to Ross, then said, “Okay, ladies, you know, that’s enough.” Let us return to work.” “[Roberts] then glances at me and says, ‘Don’t you mean lady?'” the actress continued. Ross claimed another unsettling experience with Roberts and what appears to be their 1984 costar Cody Fern in a different post on Wednesday. Roberts is presently preparing to return to the franchise with AHS: Delicate, in which she will co-star with Kim Kardashian. The show premieres on FX on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.
