The tribute concert featured singer Elle King performing as well. Clips of her performance have now gone viral on social media, as Elle’s tribute went wrong after she sang a Dolly Parton song incoherently on stage. This has led many to criticize Elle for her performance.

After the clip of Elle King singing Dolly Parton’s songs as a tribute to the latter went viral on the internet, she could be seen singing them in a confusing way. It took no time for netizens to slam Elle for it.
In fact, Elle admitted to not being aware of the lyrics of Dolly Parton’s songs while singing them on stage. Elle said, “Y’all bought tickets for this st? You ain’t getting your money back….I’ll tell you one thing more. Hi, my name is Elle King, and I’m f*ing hammered.”
On being asked by her bandmates to perform a Dolly Parton song, Elle said, “I’ll tell you one thing, I can barely play another person’s song. Let’s see if I can play one of mine.”
Stella Parton slams Elle King in her tribute to Dolly Parton
It was on January 22nd that the younger sister of Dolly Parton, Stella, took to X to comment on the whole blunder during the tribute concert f or Dolly Parton. In her statement, she said, “To any little ego thinking they can learn the lyrics correctly with a half-assed listen to one of Dolly’s songs. Surprise! You’ll end up looking as silly as that little girl.”
She slammed by saying, “Do your homework, people. Memorize the lyrics to Jolene or COMC. My sister loves words. A brilliant wordsmith.” In response to a comment asking, “Who’s Elle King?” Stella responded, “That’s what I said.”
But let me just say this, it wouldn’t be the first time a Hillbilly went on the stage of the Opry “hammered” but I guess it’s ok if you’re a male but good lord don’t ever let a girl behave that way folks! Double fucking standard if ya ask me. So the Opry is apologizing! Lol
