On 23rd September, the Adams County Coroner’s Office issued a new report for Elijah McClain.
If you didn’t know, McClain was a 23-year-old black man who died three years ago following a confrontation with police officers.
Moreover, the updated report has cited the cause of his death as ‘complications of ketamine administration following forcible restraint.’
However, the report still mentions the manner of McClain’s death as ‘undetermined.’

Additionally, Adams County Monica chief coroner Monica Broncucia-Jordan also released a statement to address the new report.
She wrote, ‘The investigation suggests that [McClain] received an intramuscular dose of ketamine that was higher than recommended for his weight.’
Additionally, Broncucia-Jordan revealed, ‘My review of all the body camera footage shows that Mr. McClain was extremely sedated within minutes of receiving a shot of ketamine.’
She further clarified, ‘Simply put, this dosage of ketamine was too much for this individual and it resulted in an overdose, even though his blood ketamine level was consistent with a ‘therapeutic’ blood concentration.’
These were Elijah McClain’s last words.

Elijah McClain died because ketamine overdose
On 24th August 2019, Elijah McClain was visiting a local convenience store in Aurora to buy tea. Furthermore, the Aurora police officers approached him on Billings Street, just north of E. Colfax Avenue.
The investigators received a call supposedly from a bystander around the same time. The caller claimed that a suspicious man was waving his arms in the area while wearing a ski mask.
However, McClain’s family attorney stated that the 23-year-old wore the ski mask because of his anemia.
Nevertheless, the officers said that McClain resisted when they tried to detain him. Hence, they put him in a carotid chokehold.
They used ketamine, I am a nurse & we never used that drug without a doctor being around. Why would EMS staff even be allowed to use such a powerful drug. His words are haunting & I hope the people who did this to him will hear them all the time for the rest of their lives.

According to the Department of Justice, the action restricts blood to the brain.
Moreover, in the body video clip, we can hear McClain saying, ‘I can’t breathe.’
Regardless, the cops then called the Aurora Fire Rescue paramedics to administer ketamine to get him under control. However, they gave him 500 milligrams of ketamine, which is an excessive dose given to someone of McClain’s weight.
The report further mentioned that McClain suffered from a cardiac arrest in the ambulance while they were taking him to a hospital. But he passed away three days later following the incident.
Over & over & over again this happens. Elijah McClain was murdered, and for what? Because he wanted tea? My God!
