Comedian and internet personality Drew “Druski” found himself at the center of controversy during Twitch streamer Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2, a live Thanksgiving special featuring Kevin Hart and Druski. The issue arose on November 28, 2024, when Druski repeatedly called a child actor “fat” and used derogatory language, sparking outrage among viewers and the child’s family.

The Incident

During the livestream, Druski referred to the child, playing Pugsley from The Addams Family in a skit, as a “little fat n****.” He repeated the phrase multiple times, even after Cenat attempted to diffuse the situation, urging him to “calm down.” Druski defended his comments by stating he was often called similar names due to his own weight and questioned why the same standard couldn’t apply to the child.

Despite his attempt to rationalize the remarks, the situation quickly escalated. The child, visibly upset, broke down in tears, prompting Cenat to console him with a hug.

Druski’s Apology

Later in the livestream, Druski offered an apology to the child:

“I got a couple of drinks, but I don’t have no excuse, bro. I’m a bigger dude, you’re a bigger dude, and we’re all on the same page. I really do apologize. I understand you’ve got the same mindset… Joseph, you’re a good dude.”

Although the apology seemed sincere, it failed to mitigate the backlash, especially after a clip of the incident circulated widely on social media.

The Mother’s Reaction

The child’s mother took to TikTok to express her anger, accusing Druski of both physical and emotional harm toward her son. She labeled his actions as “bullying” and called him a “big-ass silverback gorilla,” adding that Druski had “no business talking to a nine-year-old like this.”

In her rant, she also accused Kai Cenat of being complicit, alleging that her son’s distress was exacerbated by an unprofessional environment that violated child labor laws. She claimed her son cried in the car ride home and described feeling helpless as a parent.

The mother went further, calling for Druski to be canceled and expressing disappointment in Cenat, despite previously collaborating with him.

Kai Cenat’s Response

Cenat addressed the controversy during a subsequent stream, emphasizing that both he and Druski had apologized to the child multiple times. He explained that the livestream’s recording was edited to remove the interaction to prevent further exploitation of the incident online:

“We cut it out solely for the fact we didn’t want anyone on YouTube to make a joke out of this. That’s how serious this is.”

Cenat also suggested the boy’s mother may have coached her son, noting that some of his responses appeared scripted.

Public Backlash

The incident has sparked widespread criticism. Many viewers condemned Druski’s comments as inappropriate, particularly given the child’s age and the context of the event. Others questioned the professionalism of allowing alcohol consumption in the presence of child actors during a livestream.

While Druski’s fans defended him as a comedian who often uses edgy humor, the incident has raised serious concerns about boundaries and accountability in live entertainment settings.

The controversy surrounding Druski’s remarks during Mafiathon 2 underscores the importance of maintaining professionalism and respect in public platforms, especially when involving minors. Though both Druski and Kai Cenat have apologized, the backlash from the child’s family and the public suggests this incident will have lasting implications for all parties involved.
