Drake’s supposedly postponed show at the Apollo this week will go on despite the singer seeking medical treatment for an ankle injury.

Here is everything you need to know.

Drake received medical treatment for his ankle ahead of the Apollo concert

Drake’s much anticipated SiriusXM concert at the legendary Apollo is slated to take place this Saturday and Sunday.

Moreover, the show has already been rescheduled three times and will go ahead this week despite Drake’s suffering from an ankle injury.

In addition, the ‘One Dance’ rapper shared a post on Instagram to give a brief update on his ankle injury.

He wrote, ‘Thank you Atria NY for the best healthcare experience I have ever had. . . Let’s see what I can do on this piece of sh** ankle on Saturday.’

Drake shared multiple photos in the carousel including an image of him sporting a Yves Saint Laurent outfit while another one showed him sampling food throughout the city.

Besides that, the Grammy Award winner made an appearance back in 2009 at the ‘America’s Most Wanted Tour.’

Moreover, he later collapsed on the stage due to a bad knee which resulted in him re-injuring his ACL.

However, the 36-year-old musician went on to perform at the show without receiving any clearance from his medical team.

Drake talked about his situation during a previous interview with MTV.

He said, ‘I didn’t really get any approval from my doctor, but I made a personal decision 48 hours ago that I’d be letting a lot of people down if I didn’t show up and at least show them I’m there for them.’

Drake’s Apollo concert has been postponed twice

Drake was initially set to take the stage at the Apollo Theatre on 11th November.

However, he later postponed the show to honor the death of fellow hip-hop singer Takeoff.

If you didn’t know Takeoff passed away on 1st November in Houston after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, Drake rescheduled the concert for the weekend of 6th December. But again he announced that the show will be delayed again due to production issues.

Drake’s team released a statement at that time to talk about the postponed show.

It read, ‘If you are going to play the world-famous Apollo Theater, it has to be a world-class production.’

They continued, ‘We as a team have been working around the clock not just putting together a concert but an experience our fans deserve. With that said, we are up against some production delays that are just out of our control.’
