After an indefinite hiatus, controversial streamer Dr Disrespect has signaled his return, though his future in gaming might be uncertain. The streamer, whose real name is Guy Beahm, had taken a step back from the public eye following a scandal that rocked the gaming community. In June 2024, former Twitch employees revealed that Beahm had been banned from the platform for sending inappropriate direct messages to minors, a claim he later admitted to in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter).
This admission came after several companies, including his own game development studio, severed ties with him. Beahm’s confession marked a turning point, leading to his decision to take an extended vacation with his family. Now, after months of silence, Dr Disrespect appears to be preparing for a return, though his future in gaming streaming remains in question.

What a snoozefest.Advertisement
On September 3, Beahm took to social media, posting a cryptic message that hinted at his potential departure from gaming streams. “Are people still streaming video games? What a snoozefest,” he remarked, suggesting that his interest in gaming content may have waned during his time away. When a follower asked what he was up to, Beahm responded with, “Relaxing in the Lambo with the windows down… back from La Vacacion,” indicating that his return might not involve gaming in the same capacity as before.

Adding to the uncertainty, Beahm’s longtime editor, HobbertEdits, announced his departure from the Dr Disrespect brand after six years of collaboration. Beahm’s casual response to this news, simply calling Hobbert “The man!” without expressing concern, further fueled speculation that his streaming career could be heading in a new direction—one that might not require an editor focused on gaming content.
With YouTube having fully demonetized his channel following his confession, Beahm’s options for streaming platforms are limited. However, the streaming site Kick has not ruled out the possibility of hosting him, potentially providing him with a new home if he decides to continue creating content.
Despite all the drama and chaos these past few months, I am still extremely proud of all the work I have done but it's time for me to move on.
