DJ Akademiks has recently made headlines with claims that the SWAT team was called in to arrest popular rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again, also known as NBA YoungBoy, due to fears regarding the firepower he might possess.

The Arrest and the SWAT Team’s Involvement

On August 20, DJ Akademiks took to his livestream to discuss the ongoing legal troubles of NBA YoungBoy. The rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has been entangled in several legal issues, including allegations of involvement in a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah. YoungBoy was arrested in April while under house arrest for a separate gun case in Louisiana. According to Akademiks, the authorities did not take any chances when it came to apprehending the rapper.

“Remember I told you, he got a militia up there, right?” Akademiks said during his livestream, referring to the rapper’s arrest. He elaborated that when the authorities went to arrest YoungBoy, they felt compelled to bring in a SWAT team along with other agencies. Akademiks suggested that the law enforcement officials were wary of the potential resistance they might encounter, given the firepower YoungBoy could have at his disposal. While Akademiks didn’t imply that a standoff was inevitable, he pointed out that the rapper had enough firepower to make such an event possible.

The arrest took place on April 16 at YoungBoy’s residence in Utah. He was charged with multiple offenses, including identity theft, forgery, procuring or attempting to procure a drug prescription, possession of controlled substances, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, and engaging in a pattern of unlawful activity. Since then, YoungBoy has been denied bail and remains in custody.

YoungBoy’s Legal Battles Continue

The rapper’s legal woes didn’t end there. On August 14, NBA YoungBoy resolved one of his cases by pleading guilty to the Louisiana gun charge. The plea was contingent on moving the case to Utah, where he is already facing the prescription fraud charges. However, the resolution of one case was quickly followed by another challenge. The same day, YoungBoy was slapped with a new federal gun charge stemming from his April arrest in Utah.

As NBA YoungBoy navigates these complex legal challenges, the involvement of a SWAT team in his arrest underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating his case. Whether these charges will significantly impact his career remains to be seen, but the rapper’s legal battles are far from over.
