When Latto performed at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, many fans believed she shaded Nicki Minaj. On Sunday (April 16), Latto performed during day three of the annual festival. Fans believe that her new track contains lines directed at Nicki, with whom she had a Twitter dispute last year, to round out her set. The lines in question are Latto rapping, Bitches acting like they’re running through a lot. The other line fans claim was directed at Nicki goes, She thought I’d kiss her, she must not be taking her medicine.

Latto performs the track in the video of the set. One clip shows her walking on stage and screaming What’s the substance, girl? She may be referencing Nicki Minaj’s alleged use of drugs as she put a finger to her nose. Also, Latto seemed to offer a parting shot before leaving the stage. Last October, Nicki Minaj and Latto had a Twitter feud after Nicki brought up Latto’s Grammy nomination for “Big Energy” in light of Nicki’s song “Super Freaky Girl” not being eligible for rap awards. According to Latto, in an interview with Billboard in February, her beef with Nicki was disappointing. A new street single by Nicki called “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” appeared to diss Latto in March.

On the Coachella Performance Of Latto New Song, Fans Believe He Is Taking Shots At Nicki Minaj

Atto doesn’t seem to be bothered by the scab over her Nicki Minaj beef … her new song at Coachella gives fans the impression that she is once again aiming at her!!! During her performance on the Sahara stage Sunday, the “Big Energy” rapper provided exactly that, rapping ether like, Bits acting like they running shit, they really ran through and She thought I would kiss her ass, she mustn’t have taken her medicine. During Latto’s song-ending ad-lib, it became obvious that the song was about Nicki… I say she’s got an imaginary problem… Bitch, you said it’s up, then put it on the floor. As she walked off the stage, she yelled, Pussy hoe, let me know, we’re tired of the subtweets this year because she and Nicki’s public Twitter spat remains heavy fodder for her fans and the Barbz. One person tweeted that he liked Latto standing up for herself more than these female rappers who were afraid of Nicki Minaj.

According to another poster, Latto shading Nicki Minaj for Coachella has got to be a weak activity, and I hope the Barbz shut her down!!! When the Grammy Awards nominations for 2022 were revealed – Nicki’s “Super Freaky Girl” doesn’t make the list while Latto’s “Big Energy” does – the two fell out. In response to her song “Super Freaky Girl” not being considered for any rap categories by the Grammys, Nicki roped in Latto, saying that if “Super Freaky Girl” doesn’t get recognized as rap, then other pop-adjacent rap songs like Latto’s “Big Energy” shouldn’t either. As long as everyone is treated fairly, I have no problem moving out of the RAP category, Nicki tweeted at the time. If [‘Super Freaky Girl’] has [2 billion views], then Big Energy must move out as well. In response, Latto stated, Damn I can’t win for losing… all these nominations/awards I can’t even celebrate. As a result, an all-out war ensued, including leaked phone calls that have yet to be resolved.
