Did Adolf Hilter invent Fanta? Kanye West hails the German dictator at Proud Boys interview
3 min readKanye West’s remarks over Adolf Hilter being the inventor behind creations such as Fanta has raised discussions on social media. But are they true?
Here is everything you need to know.
Fanta was invented in Germany during Second World War
The Germans invented the carbonated drink Fanta during WWII as they were not able to manufacture Coca-Cola.
Coca-Cola on the other hand established factories in Europe due to the growing demand for the drink before the beginning of the war. However, in 1941, the American trade was banned which resulted in the unavailability of the secret ingredients used in Coca-Cola.
Moreover, the German production company of Coca-Cola stirred up a new recipe to stay in business. In addition, they made use of the rations available during the time of war.

Max Keith, the German branch’s head at the time, thought of an alternative idea that included the leftover scraps of multiple fruits from the factories of pressing fruit.
Besides that, the word, ‘Fanta’ originates from the German term Fantastisch which can also be translated to fantastic.
Meanwhile, the drink was an instant hit in Germany at the time of the war. However, it was discontinued following the conclusion.
Hence, certainly, Hitler himself did not invent the popular carbonated beverage. But it was created during his time in Germany.
Meanwhile, the drink was reintroduced across the world in 1955 and shortly after started spreading its market globally.

According to World Atlas, the alcoholic drink Jägermeister was created by Curt and Wilhelm Mast in 1933.
Meanwhile, methadone, a pain reliever, was invented in 1939 due to the opioid shortage in Germany.
In addition, Sarin, a deadly human-made chemical warfare agent, was made as a cheaper alternative to pesticides by Nazi scientists.
