Demi Lovato recently opened up about her regret over documenting her life story when she was in her 20s.

Demi Lovato shares her regret over making documentaries in her 20s

Demi Lovato turned 30 a few days back on 20th August. However, before she stepped into the new milestone, the singer sat down with Alternative Press and recalled her 20s. 

She further reflected on her life during that decade while getting candid about it. The interview was published on 22nd August.

Moreover, during the interview, the Sorry Not Sorry artist shared her regrets over putting her life story on screen.

She said, ‘Honestly, I’m really sick of watching myself, and I think other people probably are too.’

She added, ‘And if they aren’t, then they can watch my music videos.’

The Heart Attack hitmaker mentioned, ‘I wish I would have waited until I had my s*it figured out more because now it’s cemented.’

Furthermore, she claimed, ‘Sobriety is what works for me and nothing else.’

Lovato continued by telling the outlet, ‘My story’s not done, so I want to be able to say by the time I’ve written a book, “OK, this is me grown up.”‘

The 30-year-old former Disney star is currently gearing up to release her eighth studio album titled, ‘Holy Fvck.’

Additionally, she added, ‘I’m in a new chapter of my life. I want my music to reflect that.’

Demi Lovato has released three documentaries over the past decade.

She dropped the first documentary titled, Demi Lovato: Stay Strong in 2012. Later she released her second documentary called, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated in 2017. The latter discussed her battle with mental health and substance abuse.

Regardless, the Skyscraper singer most recently released her document series named  Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil in 2021.

The documentary covered Lovato’s near-fatal drug overdose in 2018. She suffered a heart attack, multiple strokes, and brain damage during the incident.

Moreover, the ultra-raw film addressed the events that led Lovato to develop serious medical issues. 

Nevertheless, they also shared her subsequent road to recovery where she gave up on substances and went into rehabilitation.

The series further detailed the other traumas and incidents, the pop star suffered. It included the time when she was sexually assaulted while in her teen years.
