Taylor Tomlinson, 29, is going to take up the time slot following “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on CBS, shaking up the late-night television scene. She has become not just the only woman in charge of a late-night show on network television, but she also happens to be the youngest by two decades. Tomlinson will host “After Midnight,” which is based on the Comedy Central series “@midnight With Chris Hardwick,” which began in 2013 and was terminated four years later. That show, hosted by Hardwick, included a panel of comics. Stephen Colbert, who broke the news on his talk show on Wednesday, is one of the executive producers of the new show.

Tomlinson will make her debut in 2024. The Los Angeles-based comedian is a film and television newcomer, but in a very short time, she has grown into one of the most renowned and well-known stand-up talents in the country, thanks to two Netflix specials, “Quarter-Life Crisis” and “Look at You.” She is at present on a worldwide tour of major theatres. She began performing as a teenager & began on the church circuit. Her first Netflix appearance was a 15-minute set on “The Comedy Lineup” in 2018. In February, her subsequent special will be available on the streaming service. Tomlinson is essentially taking over for James Corden, who left “The Late Late Show” earlier this year. Craig Ferguson and Tom Snyder had previously hosted shows that followed “The Late Show With David Letterman.”

Taylor Tomlinson has been chosen to host CBS’s new late-night brand “After Midnight.” The sitcom has been executive produced by Stephen Colbert, who revealed Tomlinson on Wednesday’s edition of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The news was discussed on stage by Tomlinson and Colbert. Her latest TV appearances include the Netflix comedy specials “Look At You” and “Quarter Life Crisis.” As was previously stated, “After Midnight” will premiere in early 2024, replacing “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” It is based on “@midnight,” a panel series that aired between October 2013 and August 2017 after “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report.” It featured largely guest comedians who interacted with presenter Chris Hardwick. Tomlinson signed a deal with Netflix earlier this year to have her next two stand-up specials premiere on the streaming service. For her 2024 debut, Tomlinson recorded her latest special in Washington, D.C.

Tomlinson’s star rose in 2020, when “Quarter-Life Crisis” premiered on Netflix just before the epidemic began. Meanwhile, Tomlinson confirmed that she is still working on a Village Roadshow Pictures film that centres around her upbringing, which she is co-writing with Taylor Tetreau & will star in for director Paul Weitz. Eric Pierce as well as Jack Martin, who co-wrote and executive produced all four seasons of “@midnight,” will continue to serve as co-showrunners & executive producers. Jo Firestone, a comedian and writer, will serve as co-executive producer & head writer. Alexx Wells will also act as a co-executive producer on the project. Several executive producers are involved in the production of the series, including Stephen Colbert; Carrie Byalick, president of Spartina Industries; Tom Purcell, executive producer of “The Late Show; Evelyn McGee Colbert; and James Dixon, president of Dixon Talent. Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Whitney Hodack, and Henry R. Muoz III from Funny Or Die work with the Spartina team as executive producers. In addition to co-creating “@midnight,” Jason U. Nadler is an executive producer.
