Chris Brown blames Grammy loss for his ‘mean’ message to Robert Glasper

Chris Brown recently took to the DMs of Robert Glasper to issue an apology for the tantrum he threw after the latter won a Grammy.

Brown explained, ‘Congratulations my brother.. I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys.’

Moreover, he then went on to acknowledge that he ‘came off really rude and mean’ in his tantrum message.

In addition, Brown said, ‘After doing my research I actually think your [sic] amazing.’

Besides that, the Deuces singer shared that Glasper was ‘not the Intended target’ and he was actually directing his anger toward Grammys.

He wrote, ‘THE ORGANIZATION ISN’T DOING US BLACKS OUR DUE DILIGENCE. YOU AND I SHOULD never be in the same categor[y].. two totally different vibes and genres.’

Meanwhile, Brown’s apology comes after he faced massive backlash for lashing out at Glasper

He seemingly acted as a critically acclaimed pianist after he won the Grammy for Best R&B Album.

While Brown was nominated for his album Breezy (Deluxe), Glasper bagged a nomination for his record Black Radio III.

Additionally, other nominees included Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe), Lucky Daye’s Candydrip, and PJ Morton’s Watch the Sun.

Besides that, Brown has been nominated at the Recording Academy nearly twenty-one times. However, he managed to bag only one award for his 2011 album F.A.M.E.

Glasper on the other hand has been nominated twelve times and won five Grammys.

Netizens slam Chris Brown for his apology to Robert Glasper

Many social media users took to several online platforms to blast Chris Brown for his behavior towards Robert Glasper.

A user penned, ‘Chris said he would LIKE to apologize, not that he was actually apologizing and continued accordingly.’

Another added, ‘Chris Brown is 33 years old. There is no excuse for his deeply disrespectful rant yesterday or this silly little piece of a non-apology. Where are this man’s people?’

Someone else chimed in to say, ‘why he even gets nominations is BEYOND ME.’

A different user noted, ‘A classically trained pianist and artist with a spotless reputation beats someone who should have never been nominated, awww so sad.’
