Chelsea Handler is heading back to Netflix
Earlier this week on 14th November Monday, Netflix announced that comedian Chelsea Handler is all set to headline a new comedy special called Revolution.
The logline says, ‘The celebrated, award-winning comedian lets loose on her life – including her choice to remain childless and alone (with the exception of her dogs), dating during the pandemic while her family invades her home, and her vision for a future where men don’t wear flip flops.’
Moreover, Handler’s comeback would mark her first stand-up special in two years.
If you didn’t know, the 47-year-old actress released her Grammy-nominated special titled, Evolution on HBO Max in 2020.
Meanwhile, Handler is currently on the road for her ‘Vaccinated & Horny Tour.’ It is a year-and-a-half-long tour and is scheduled to conclude on 16th December. Furthermore, the tour consists of nearly 115 shows in more than 90 cities.
Regardless, her Netflix special was reportedly filmed on 10th June 2022 when she made a stop in Nashville, Tennessee at the Ryman Auditorium.
Besides that, Handler herself alongside Michelle Caputo and Shannon Hartman will serve as executive producer of the standup.
Handler’s much-anticipated show Revolution is slated to drop on the streaming platform on 27th December 2022.
Chelsea Handler’s new comedy special is directed by her ex-boyfriend
Chelsea Handler’s former boyfriend Jo Koy reportedly directed her latest comedy special. However, the couple supposedly called it quits three weeks after filming for Revolution.
The Chelsea Handler Show television host took to her Instagram handle on 18th July 2022 to announce her breakup with Koy. She shared a video that was initially planned to celebrate their first anniversary.
She outlined the post with a caption that read, ‘It is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now.’
The message continued, ‘I know many of you were invested in our love. I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us.’
Subsequently, a couple of days later, TMZ questioned Koy about his separation from Handler.
However, he replied, ‘Everything’s good. We’re taking a break. We’re great friends, we’ve always been great friends. The love is still there.’
