Carlos Santana collapsed during a Michigan show

Carlos Santana was playing at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston as a part of his  Blessings and Miracles Tour.

According to a concertgoer, the 74-year-old star was about four or five songs into his set and was playing his hit Joy when suddenly he collapsed on stage.

The Smooth singer waved to his fans as he was wheeled away on a stretcher earlier this week as his crew personnel tried to block the transport using a black sheet.

Someone reportedly asked the shocked crowd to pray for Santana as he was suffering from a ‘serious medical’ issue.

Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis revealed on Tuesday night that the guitarist underwent a few observations after they dashed to the emergency room. He also admitted that the Latin singer is on his way to recovery and ‘doing well’.

A representative of the artist confirmed that Santana was overcome by heat exhaustion and dehydration when he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital.

Carlos Santana’s concert details

Carlos Santana was supposed to perform next at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

However, a message on Santana’s Facebook page reveals that the concert will be postponed to a later date and more updates will be shared through Live Nation.

Santana is famous for his classic tracks like Evil Ways and Oye Como Va. He was in the middle of the Miraculous Supernatural 2022 tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.

The rocker performed at 32 shows since 25th March and 19 more dates are remaining on the tour. It is slated to finish off on the 27th of August in Tampa, Florida.

The Latin rockstar canceled multiple shows in Las Vegas last December. He took time off the road after it was reported that he underwent an ‘unscheduled heart procedure’.

Santana posted a video clip on his Twitter page to explain the situation.

He said, ‘Last Saturday, I had an incident where I asked my wife, Cindy, to take me to the hospital. Because I had this thing happening in my chest.’

The star continued, ‘ I am going to be taking time off for a little bit to make sure I replenish.’

He further added, ‘I will play the way I’m used to and give you 150 percent. I wouldn’t show up unless I could do that.’
