Cardi B has clapped back at critics who questioned her decision to go out partying less than a month after giving birth to her third child. The rapper, who welcomed her daughter on September 7, faced backlash after being spotted at The Stafford Room in New York City on October 5. Videos posted to her Instagram Story showed her dancing with friends into the early morning hours, prompting some to accuse her of neglecting her newborn.

The “WAP” rapper, however, was quick to address the criticism head-on. Cardi took to Instagram Live, where she defended her choice to go out, explaining that she spends plenty of time with her daughter and only heads out on weekends to prevent postpartum depression.

“I be with my baby all day,” Cardi said in her Live session. “I need to go out… I’m going through a divorce right now. If I stay home and depress myself, that’s gonna drive me crazy. That’s why I’m working, and on weekends, I’m going out with my girls.”

Cardi was clear in her message to critics, insisting that her occasional nights out are a part of her mental health strategy. She emphasized that she’s determined to avoid postpartum depression, something she had struggled with in her previous pregnancies. “I don’t ever wanna go through postpartum depression again, and I’m avoiding that,” Cardi added.

In addition to the night out, Cardi B had also attended Paris Fashion Week, another move that brought backlash from some who felt she should be spending more time at home with her newborn. Despite the noise, Cardi remained firm in her stance, pointing out that her mental and emotional well-being is a priority for herself and her family.

The rapper, who described her recent birth as an easy experience, explained that the quick delivery had left her energized and ready to face the world. “This baby just popped right out,” she said. “I pushed the baby in seven minutes. When I gave birth, no lie, in one day I had such a burst of energy I wanted to conquer the world.”

Though she attended the same club as her estranged husband Offset on that night, Cardi made it clear that there is no reconciliation on the horizon. She has been adamant that the divorce is proceeding, despite the two still sharing a home. “It just takes time… but everything is dead,” she stated in response to ongoing rumors of a possible reunion.

The public criticism didn’t stop there. Cardi B was also targeted by accusati ons that she had undergone plastic surgery shortly after giving birth. In response, she shared a video flaunting her post-pregnancy figure, which drew even more negative attention. A critic on social media commented on her figure, accusing her of focusing too much on her appearance and questioning the rapid change in her body.

Cardi did not hold back in her response, firing back with a cutting remark comparing the critic’s appearance to a “potato.” The rapper was quick to point out that she had not had surgery and that her slimmer look was thanks to wearing a tight girdle, not a surgeon’s knife. She tweeted, “My body looks exaggerated in the other video because I have a 5X faja [girdle] on.”

Cardi B, now a mother of three, is clearly not allowing any criticism about her choices—whether about motherhood or her appearance—dampen her spirits. While the internet continues to debate her actions, Cardi remains unapologetic, focusing on her mental health and family as she navigates both motherhood and the public eye.
