Emily Gold, a 17-year-old cheerleader from Los Osos High School and a recent contestant on “America’s Got Talent,” was tragically found dead in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on September 13. Her sudden death has sent shockwaves through her school community and the broader public who admired her talent. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, with early reports suggesting it may have been a suicide.

Gold was discovered under an overpass on the eastbound 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga just before midnight on Friday. According to law enforcement sources, she is believed to have jumped from the overpass and landed on the freeway below. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received 911 calls about a pedestrian down in the carpool lane, where they found at least one vehicle had struck Gold and left the scene. It remains unclear if the driver realized they had hit a person or thought it was an object on the road. No suicide note was found at the scene or on Gold, and the CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
