Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have encountered another setback on their European tour as at least four shows have been postponed due to “vocal issues.” This development comes just months after Springsteen battled peptic ulcer disease, which led to the cancellation of US tour dates.
The postponement was announced just before a scheduled show at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille, with Springsteen expressing gratitude for fans’ understanding and promising to inform them of the rescheduled date soon. Tickets for the postponed shows will remain valid for the new dates, with reimbursement options available for those who prefer.
Following further examination and consultation with doctors, it was determined that Springsteen should refrain from performing for the next ten days. Consequently, shows in Prague and Milan scheduled for June 1 and June 3 have also been postponed. Bruce Springsteen is said to be recuperating comfortably, and the band looks forward to resuming the tour in Madrid on June 12.
These vocal issues come after Bruce Springsteen’s battle with peptic ulcer disease, which forced him to cancel all tour dates in September. The disease, known for affecting the stomach lining, raised concerns about its impact on Springsteen’s voice, a crucial aspect of his performances known for their marathon durations.
Reflecting on his health scare in a recent interview, Bruce Springsteen expressed gratitude to the doctors who helped him recover and regain his ability to perform. Despite initial uncertainties about his vocal recovery, he emphasized his love for singing and the relief of being able to return to the stage.
Springsteen’s resilience and determination to overcome health challenges highlight the dedication he has to his craft and his commitment to delivering memorable performances to his fans. As he continues his recovery, fans eagerly await his return to the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable European tour experience.
