Rapper Boosie BadAzz has stirred controversy yet again after making troubling comments about his daughter Poison Ivi’s sexuality. During an appearance on Yung Miami’s Caresha Please! live taping at Revolt World 2024, Boosie openly discussed his discomfort with his daughter’s relationship and why he doesn’t allow her partner to visit their family home.
The footage, which emerged on September 27, 2024, shows Boosie explaining his stance on the matter. He admitted that he’s worried his daughter’s sexuality could “contaminate” her younger siblings, saying, “I don’t want her to contaminate her other six, seven sisters who look up to her.” Boosie expressed concern about how his other children might be influenced by Poison Ivi’s relationship, claiming that he wants them to “bring me grandchildren the right way.”

He added, “If I don’t want my other little girl to look at daddy and say, ‘What’s that daddy?’ to somebody she looks up to? It’s not gonna come around. My grandfather didn’t let it, my daddy didn’t let it, and I didn’t let it.” His comments, steeped in homophobia, drew shocked reactions from the live audience, with many muttering about how “Boosie crazy.”
The statements quickly caught the attention of Poison Ivi, who responded to her father’s words in an Instagram Live session. Clearly upset, she called on Boosie to stop discussing her sexuality publicly. “Emotionally, mentally, you suck,” she said, addressing her father directly. She voiced her frustration with his decision to talk about her personal life online rather than having a private conversation with her. “You’d rather go to the internet and have a conversation with the internet about your kids before you come to us and have that conversation,” she said.
However, Poison Ivi was careful to note that she wasn’t trying to disrespect her father, acknowledging that Boosie is a provider and not a “bad father.” She emphasized that her frustration came from his constant public comments about her. “You steady speakin’ on me,” she said. Poison Ivi suggested that Boosie could simply ask to move on from the subject instead of continuously discussing it in interviews. “I would respect if you just say, just one time, just say, ‘My daughter know how I feel about that can we move on to the next question?’”
Boosie’s disapproval of his daughter’s sexuality is not new. In a 2023 interview with DJ Vlad, he mentioned that he and his family were struggling to “accept” Poison Ivi’s identity, though he insisted they still loved her. “Even though it won’t be accepted… we’re gonna love her to death. But at the same time, our Southern family has never been that way,” Boosie explained. He acknowledged that his daughter is grown and capable of making her own decisions but made it clear that her choices would never be fully embraced by their family.
Boosie’s outspoken views on homosexuality have been a recurring theme in his public life. Earlier in 2024, he made headlines for walking out of a screening of The Color Purple remake, claiming the film “seemed gay” and that he didn’t want to expose his daughters to it.
Despite the public backlash, Boosie remains steadfast in his views, continuing to express his discomfort with LGBTQ+ topics. Meanwhile, Poison Ivi is clearly hurt by her father’s repeated comments, urging him to stop airing their personal issues for the world to see. This latest exchange highlights the ongoing tension between Boosie’s traditional Southern values and his daughter’s identity, with no resolution in sight.
