Bobby Brown Reveals “New Edition” is reuniting for the 2023 March tour

Bobby Brown recently broke the news that the 1980s sensational hip-hop group is gearing up for its return in March 2023 for a tour.

Here is everything you need to know.

Bobby Brown reveals New Edition reuniting news

Bobby Brown spilled the beans about New Edition’s upcoming reunion during a brief interview with TMZ at the LAX airport.

Moreover, he confirmed that the group is all set to come back in March next year. The 53-year-old singer added that members will return for an upcoming special tour.

Besides that, Brown reportedly said, “That’s the power of the group. It’s not hard. We have a brotherhood that is probably unstoppable. We take pride in what we do.’

If you didn’t know, the band will possibly reunite after 40 years after being formed in 1978. The band reached its primetime in the 1980s. However, in 1985, Brown announced his departure from the group to pursue a solo career.

Where is New Edition now? 

Johnny Gill

He became one of the band’s lead vocalists following the exit of Bobby Brown. Furthermore, he went on to release hits such as ‘Can You Stand The Rain’ and ‘If This Isn’t Love.’

Moreover, his 1990 self-titled album went on to receive double-platinum while his two follow-ups 1993’s Proactive and 1996’s Let’s Get The Mood Right got gold.

Ralph Tresvant

He guarded the position of the band’s lead vocalist even when Gill claimed the spot after Brown’s sudden exit. 

Meanwhile, his 1990 self-titled debut album gained recognition worldwide. Additionally, Tresvant was featured in the James Brown biopic ‘Get On Up’ which was released in 2014.

Ricky Bell

He was more of a supporting vocalist in New Edition. But he found his calling and started leading Bell Biv DeVoe. 

As of now, he is busy touring with the spin-off trio with whom he has created the hit single, ‘Poison.’ In 2002, Bell went on to drop his solo album titled ‘Ricardo Campana’.

Michael Bivins 

He has always had an interest in business despite being a musician. In addition, he explored this aspect while he was in New Edition and later in Bell Biv DeVoe.

Meanwhile, he launched a Motown-distributed record label called Biv 10 Records.

Ronnie DeVoe

He joined New Edition when it was in its early stages with the help of his uncle and choreographer Brooke Payne.

Despite joining, Bell Biv DeVoe, he later started a real estate company based in Atlanta called DeVoe Broker Associates.
