Dr. Emil Kohan, a medical professional recently gave his take on whether the facial scar of TikToker Scar Girl is real or not.

Ann Bonelli, an 18-year-old London-based influencer is taking over TikTok due to her striking yet controversial facial scar.

Moreover, Bonelli’s past photo shows that she has a fresh pink wound on the left side of her face. However, in her recent post, she appears to have a distinct brown line on her life which made some of her fans suspect that the scar is not real.

In addition, the scar has sparked a heated debate among the app’s community over the authenticity of the wound.

Many users accused Bonelli of using make-up to cover up her scar and making it stand out more. Others claimed that her scar is not real and is simply a drawing.

However, most recently, Kohan who is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon has weighed in on the conversation.

He said, ‘It usually doesn’t. A normal scar turns pink and red, becomes a little darker over the course of months, and usually fades, especially in a patient with a lighter skin tone. It doesn’t become a dark eyebrow on your cheek.’

Ann Bonelli aka Scar Girl talks about her much-discussed facial scar

Ann Bonelli recently sat down with NBC News for an interview on 26th January Thursday where she opened up about her scar

She explained, ‘I feel like on social media people get so comfortable, especially with influencers in general, to make comments on things because they don’t always view them as real people. Like, I’m a real person.’

Meanwhile, Bonelli has shut down the rumors that she is faking the scar in the previous interviews.

She explained that she used a topical lightening cream to cover up her wound in the past. However, the cream made her scar thicker and darker and caused a ‘chemical burn.’

Bonelli shared in the past, ‘While I don’t think it’s right that people mindlessly comment hate for whatever reason it is, I do make a decision to put myself out on the internet. My account was made to show those out there, they’re more than their scars.’

For the unversed, Bonelli claims that she sustained the injury in 2020 allegedly as a result of domestic violence.
