Blueface Granted Probation Again in Las Vegas Shooting Case but Will Remain in Jail for Separate Probation Violation.

Rapper Blueface has been granted probation in his Las Vegas shooting case but will remain in jail in California due to a separate probation violation. The decision was made by Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney, who granted the rapper probation for up to three years, suspending a two-to-five-year prison sentence on the condition that he complies with the terms of his probation.

Details of the Probation

On Tuesday, July 16, local news outlet 8 News Now reported that Judge Delaney had ruled in favor of probation for Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter. In addition to probation, the judge sentenced Blueface to 30 days in jail, a term that was effectively nullified as time served since the rapper remains incarcerated in California for a different probation violation.

Background on the Case

Blueface’s legal troubles in Nevada stem from a shooting incident in 2022, for which he was granted a suspended sentence of two to five years in October 2023. However, his recent legal complications arose when Judge Delaney issued a bench warrant for his arrest in February, citing a violation of probation. This violation was linked to viral footage showing Blueface allegedly orchestrating an altercation during a performance in Salt Lake City.

Attorney’s Statement

Blueface’s attorney, Kristina Wildeveld, provided clarity on the situation, stating that her client did not violate his probation in the manner alleged. She explained that the bench warrant had been quashed and that any perceived violations were technical in nature. Wildeveld emphasized that Blueface had no new arrests or police contacts and that the court’s actions were more of a warning than a punishment:

“Mr. Porter was not ‘violated’ as was alleged. The bench warrant that was issued was quashed. We agreed that any allegations of him not following the directives of what was required of him while on parole in Nevada, which he was serving in California, was a technical violation and agreed to a 30-day revocation concurrent to the time he was already doing in California, nothing more.”

Family and Future Prospects

Despite the legal setbacks, Blueface’s mother, Karlissa Saffold, is optimistic about her son’s release. She told TMZ Hip Hop that she is planning a welcome home party, hoping that his court hearing on July 29 will be the final hurdle to his freedom. Saffold believes that this period of incarceration will help Blueface gain new wisdom and make better decisions in the future.

Social Media Reactions

The rapper’s legal battles have sparked a variety of reactions on social media. His mother, Karlissa Saffold, has asked for prayers from other mothers, while other users have expressed mixed feelings about his potential return to the public eye. Some comments ranged from expressing concern about his behavior to others eagerly anticipating his social media presence once again.

For instance, Instagram user @sauccyy.delly humorously remarked, “Uh oh they finna terrorize our timelines again.” In contrast, @mastermindcamryn stated, “We really left him & Chrisean in 2023,” highlighting a desire to move past the drama associated with the rapper. Another user, @youcan_this, admitted, “Internet been boring without him can’t lie 😭,” reflecting the entertainment value some fans find in his antics.

While Blueface has secured probation in his Las Vegas shooting case, his immediate future remains uncertain due to ongoing legal issues in California. As his family and fans await his potential release, the rapper’s journey through the legal system continues to attract significant public and media attention.
