One of the burglars in West Nashville who wore a blue dinosaur onesie while breaking into a home and car has been arrested.

A convicted felon, Elijah Morris, 23, was taken into custody by Metro police on separate charges, including aggravated arson for a house fire that occurred on Albion Street early on December 16.

How and when burglary happened?

The 23-year-old suspect they’ve been searching for since January is Elijah Samuel Morris, who was previously busted in January while wearing a blue dinosaur onesie, according to police. He was arrested Wednesday after allegedly breaking into a vehicle and burglarizing a home.

A vehicle burglary was reported at an apartment complex on Rice Road on Wednesday morning. Two flat tires were reported on the car belonging to Morris. Morris put the car in reverse and fled after the officers turned on their emergency lights.

The police say Morris put the car in reverse when they hit the sirens before driving off then stopping in a parking lot and running.

When he tried to get into a second vehicle, he was taken into custody. Morris was caught with a stolen gun in Louisville at the time of his arrest.

Nashville Fire Department investigators determined that Morris was responsible for starting a fire in the 4300 block of Albion Street. It was noisy outside the front door that woke the six people inside the home. They saw a fire on the front porch after going to see what was causing the noise. The residents escaped safely through the back door.
